EL RIO LITTLE LEAGUE

El Rio Little League is a youth baseball organization for boys and girls ages 4 to 16 years.

Since 1958 El Rio Little League has been a chartered member of Little League International and is one of nine (9) leagues in the Ventura County, District 13 area.

We continue to be one of the largest baseball leagues in the Oxnard area, boasting over 30 teams in eight (8) divisions each Spring season.

Each league is required to pull their players from a specific boundary as proposed and approved by Little League International. In order for a player to qualify for post-season Little League Tournament play, they must live within the “approved” boundaries of that league and play the Spring season at that league. Boundaries are not without purpose. They ensure that no league can unfairly recruit players in order to put together a highly talented, select team or teams into Tournament play.

Each league is managed by a group of Board Officers which are elected by a majority vote of the general membership (parents) for a term of two-years. Board Officer positions are; President, Vice President, Treasurer, Secretary, Player Agent, Safety Officer, League Information Officer, Snack Bar Coordinator, and Coach Coordinator.

In addition, Board Members are selected by a majority vote of the Board Officers for a term of one-year. Board Member positions are; Field Manager, Head Umpire, Division Directors, Events Coordinator, Parking Attendant, and Head Team Mom to name a few. All Board Officers/Members/Coaches are volunteer positions. No one gets paid (compensated) for the hard work and long hours they give to the league.

Volunteers are critical to the continued success of each and every league. If you think you can help, in any way, for any length of time, contact us. Coaches and volunteers are always needed!
